A letter from Tracy: Divine Design
We have served the body of Christ every season, and the impact is fantastic when we stop to understand what the body of Christ is saying and doing in our culture. CSM’s divine design is to build relationships that build the body and change our culture’s health for each season.
In the spring, we were busy working and rehabbing homes and were able to complete 14 homes in just a few months. The Lord led us to focus on one home to help a senior move back into her family home. We saw God show out to bless a widow who served families and helped raise kids, not her own. She served the church for over 50 years, and God was so good to her. The spring has also brought changes to CSM in staffing. Aaron, who has worked here for 12 years, stepped away to work with his son, and a few other staff left. We have had a few Board of Director changes, and we are excited to build this area substantially in the future.
The summer at CSM starts with Kids Across America Kamps, and this year we took 101 people and had 13 kids from our group come to know Christ for the first time. We had seven groups go together from 3 different locations around the city. Summer groups this summer have already come from Tennessee and around Birmingham to serve our city. We have had a June full of service for the Kingdom and impacting our city. July will be hot, and groups from California to Maine are coming to serve our grand city on mission.
The fall is always a new beginning as we look forward to schools starting and then the holidays. We have several positions we are seeking to fill in our ministry and working with our board and advisors to build a team for the future. The next few years will focus on working with churches to increase the gospel’s impact in our city. We will do this through our continued partnerships with pastors and churches, using resources for outreaches, missions events, and partners’ programs. Then, we will build into our ministry leaders’ principles and strategies to see our communities thrive.
CSM is entering its next season of ministry and maturing into its God-given divine design. We are made in the image and likeness of God to reflect his glory. Ministry lives out the righteousness and justice within our society and influences culture with the values of the Kingdom. If we embrace what we see ahead in our divine design of living right with our God and seeing justice lived out in our culture, we will glorify God with our lives and ministry and His Kingdom will be lived out through our eternal lives today and forever. We need your prayers and partnership to fulfill all the Lord has for us.
