A letter from Tracy: Eternal Life
I love to read books and listen to the latest podcast that will encourage and edify me. As I listened to a message by Tony Evans recently, he defined eternal life in a way that has affected me, and it was as if I heard it for the first time. He said, “Eternal life is a quality of life we can live now and forever.” The value of the gospel that we hold dear at CSM is the proclamation of the life of Christ we have for our security and inheritance forever with the Lord in heaven. It is also a quality of life we can live daily, here and now, while serving the Lord with our testimony and lives.
I want the work I’ve done for 40 years to impact the quality of life for the poor in our city. I need to know that sharing the gospel and seeing lives changed for the gospel’s sake brings eternal life with the Lord forever in heaven. We communicate with our mouths our testimonies of our journeys with Christ. For the last 13 years, CSM has affected hundreds and thousands of lives with our hands, feet, hearts, ears, resources, and words from the perspective of influencing people’s eternal life today in our community, city, state, country, and the world. I received a text last night from one of our partners, and they work in disasters all over the world. We partner with them to help impact hurting people with goods used by followers of Christ to be the hands or feet of Christ in disaster. This partner shared how we have affected Turkish families with the gospel.
I want you to know that as followers of Christ, every day, we can impact someone’s eternal life as defined as a quality of life now and forever. We influence change at CSM daily by proclaiming the good news with our words. The testimonies we share with you as a co-laborer are for everyone.
At CSM, God has blessed us with hundreds of relational partnerships. Those partnerships help us serve eternal life experiences today. Remember that eternal life is a quality of life we can have today and forever in service with our Lord and Savior, Jesus. Thank you for walking with us in eternal life each day in our mission to connect resources with needs through building relational partnerships to effect God’s kingdom on earth as it will be in heaven.
