A letter from Tracy: Need to Know

Every day, there is a news story about the discovery of classified documents in the President’s house. We, as Americans, could be compromised, depending on who looks at it and who is behind it. We, as Christians, have a document before us, the Bible, and thank God it is public knowledge and not top secret. January is a great time to stop, fast, and pray for the knowledge of God to be revealed to us. This month, as I have prayed for the future of CSM, our city, our churches, and our vision, I have this statement in my mind: “need to know.” Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you.” I need to know God so he may reveal His plans to me.

2022 was a great year; it was our most impactful year in the 12 years the Lord has directed our path. It would be easy for us to get comfortable and glide through 2023 or determine that we must continue to advance and multiply. However, we need to know God to know his will for our lives and our ministry in our city. We need to grow in awareness of God’s hand of guidance as we serve churches, ministries, and volunteers. We need to move in intentional Gospel growth as an organization in partnership with the local church, other nonprofits, and disaster relief organizations.

In 2023 we “need to know” how to multiply in gospel disciple-making in all our “good works.” We are God’s workmanship created to do “good works” that is the will of God. We “need to know” the will and way of God for our lives and the ministry that God has entrusted to all believers and us here at CSM. The harvest laborers are few, and we will do our part in multiplying the “good works” with God’s people in the church. We “need to know” that our future and hope are in the finished work of Christ and what he does through us. CSM is just a tool to be used by the church to multiply the shepherd for the herds He is bringing to faith.

In 2023 we “need to know” that we have a future and a hope. The advancement of the gospel impacts heaven and earth, and as we send forth the message of new life in Christ, we multiply hope. Thank you for partnering with CSM for the effect each local church will have in our future and hope. Through the churches’ work, the unified body of Christ is God’s instrument for blessings. We “need to know” that we are on the right path, and Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call to me, and I will answer you and tell you great and incomprehensible things you do not know.”

This year we “need to know” those great and incomprehensible things he has called us to and will work through our “good works.”
