CSM attends the CCDA conference 2023
CSM took a trip to Cincinnati, Ohio, for the annual Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) conference this year. This conference is for people working to serve their communities in various ways while being rooted in a love of God and a desire to see their communities transformed, first and foremost, by His power. Our time together reflected how to live a life in alignment with the Lord’s prayer, “Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Kingdom living is the heartbeat of all CCDA attendees, and the unifying power of the Holy Spirit is evident as all attendees are doing a wide variety of projects and initiatives, working toward the same goal.
The powerful words from speakers on embracing culture and seeing it as a God-given gift and attending thought-provoking panels on how to be Biblically informed regarding pressing social issues most impacted the CSM team. We are so thankful to be sitting in the “shade of trees we have not planted” from one of the CCDA founders, John Perkins, who truly paved the way for sharing the Gospel to a culture whose soil was dry, rocky, and full of weeds. That legacy is still spurring us on today as we seek to be faithful and follow the Lord’s direction in building His Kingdom in Birmingham.
