Prayers for Willie Banks!

Willie Banks began working at CSM in the summer of 2010. He started working here shortly after Tracy Hipps became the Executive Director. Willie manages the warehouse. Earlier this year, he had surgery to remove a growth around his bladder. His doctor diagnosed him with bladder cancer. Shortly after, he had another surgery to get the margins, and the doctor deemed his cancer aggressive. They did a blood test to see if it had moved to his bloodstream, and thankfully, it had not. Praise the Lord!

He undergoes chemotherapy treatment that is applied directly to the inside of his bladder. Treatments are going reasonably well, and Willie feels well enough to continue working in the warehouse. When asked about his treatments and prayer requests, Willie says, “Life is a bowl of menudos soup. It goes how it wants to, but the Lord has the say so at the end of the day.” He draws strength from the book of Job and Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” He says, “God loves us, even counting the hairs on our heads. God is always there with you, no matter what is going on. He’s always on time.”

Please join us in praying for Willie as he finishes treatment. If treatment does not work, they may take his bladder, so please pray that he can keep it. Pray also that the cancer will be gone.
