Thankserving Day 2023

On November 18, we kicked off our Thanksgiving serve day at 5 am. It was a busy and exciting morning, loading 5,000 food boxes and turkeys into vehicles from partner churches. We distributed 2,000 the week leading up to the 18th and 7,000 food boxes and turkeys in total. Volunteers from Auburn Community Church and Regenerate Society loaded up the vehicles of more than 50 partners and prayed over each truck before sending them out. That same day, many of our church partners held their Thanksgiving outreach. We estimate that approximately 21,000 people received a Thanksgiving meal. This was an incredible feat, and we are truly grateful to everyone who participated and made it possible. Praise God!

One of our staff members described this day as similar to a wedding. We spend a lot of money and time planning for something that is over in just a few hours—six months of preparation led to a 5-hour slot where we work hard to provide meals for 7,000 families. We are immensely grateful to God for how He has grown CSM to be a place that supports His Church. Whatever He fills our warehouse with, we love to give it out. We view everything we have, from frozen turkeys to canned corn, as a tool for the Gospel.
