Your love for one another
will prove to the world that
you are my disciples.
Christian Service Mission is a 501c3 non profit serving the greater Birmingham area for Christ since 1970. We exist to work alongside churches in order to build healthy communities that reflect Oneness with Christ in our city.
Our Core Values
Christian Service Mission was established by Johnny Lynch. Mr. Lynch opened a small benevolent mission on the Southside of Birmingham and was there until the mid-1980s.
Under the direction of Ed Cutshall, Food Source of Alabama was established. This food co-op program served 60,000 families throughout the southeast for many years.
Under the direction of Rhonda Marshall, CSM formed a partnership with over 110 organizations to provide food and resources in the greater Birmingham area.
Under a new Board and a new Executive Director, Tracy Hipps, CSM has entered a new era with a new vision for the next season of ministry. CSM is here to help build healthier communities that reflect Oneness with Christ through community outreach.
Today, Christian Service Mission continues to host thousands of volunteers a year while connecting resources to needs throughout Birmingham. We see the Lord’s favor every day as we work towards bringing about unity in our city.
