Danieta is a widowed mother of three daughters who once worked as a paralegal. After suffering a severe stroke that left her paralyzed and homebound, she faced the daily challenge of caring for her family while living in a home that was falling apart around her.
Her roof had begun leaking so badly that water damage was causing her ceiling to collapse. On top of that, her deck was rotted and unstable—so dangerous that it was unsafe to even step on. For a mom who relies on a wheelchair, this made entering and exiting her home both difficult and dangerous.
That’s where Christian Service Mission stepped in. With a staff of only seven, we couldn’t tackle this project alone. But thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, we were able to do what felt impossible. Together, they tore down her old, unsafe deck—a major task in itself—and rebuilt it with a strong, wheelchair-accessible ramp. At the same time, her leaking roof was replaced, securing her home and protecting her family from further damage.
These repairs didn’t just fix a roof and replace a deck—they restored safety, dignity, and peace of mind for Danieta and her daughters. What was once unsafe and overwhelming is now a secure and welcoming home.
We often say that our volunteers are the hands and feet of Jesus. This project is living proof. Their compassion and hard work made it possible for us to show God’s lavish love to Danieta, reminding her that her Father sees her, cares for her, and provides for her without limit.
