One of the greatest joys of our summer was welcoming back First Christian Church from Johnson City, Tennessee—a team that has truly become part of the CSM family. Each year, their youth group arrives with contagious energy, skillfully taking on construction projects while forming deep, Christ-centered connections with our team and the homeowners we serve.
This summer felt especially meaningful as we reflected on how our partnership with FCC has grown. Beyond their work here in Birmingham, they were a vital partner in our disaster response efforts after Hurricane Helene in Tennessee. Their commitment to serving both near and far is a beautiful reflection of what CSM is all about: long-term relationships and gospel-rooted transformation.
What we love most is the full-circle nature of our relationship. FCC comes alongside local churches here in Birmingham—supporting pastors and congregations who have identified neighbors in need of home repairs. And they serve with more than just tools in hand—they bring hearts full of compassion, treating every project as a ministry, not just a task.
