In 2015, Wells Fargo generously gifted CSM a house at the right time. This home was for the Jackson family, whose home was damaged in the 2011 tornadoes. We had to find the Jacksons a temporary place to live while we renovated their home. Thanks to the support of many churches and volunteers, we were able to turn this house into a home for the Jackson family.Â
After the Jacksons moved out, we were still determining what to do next. Then, we thought of our longtime friends, the Bonner family. The Bonners had been serving CSM for several years and dreamed of homeownership. Though they had been together for over 20 years, they were not married. Tracy encouraged them to get married, and to our surprise, they did! They even asked Tracy to perform the ceremony. This wedding was significant for them and their families, marking their commitment to each other and the Lord.
Since then, Jay and Tameka have been meeting with CSM leadership to improve their financial situation and strengthen their marriage while caring for their families. They are two of the hardest-working people we know! For five years, they have faithfully paid rent, taken care of the home, and made improvements. Through their hard work and dedication, we officially gave them the home. They are now thriving and reversing generational poverty, leaving a legacy of love and commitment to their children and grandchildren. The Bonners have faced many challenges, but they always have a smile on their faces, are generous, and are willing to learn and grow. Supporting them has been a joy as they fulfill their lifelong dream of homeownership!
