We are thrilled to introduce John Sardin, our new Community Garden Coordinator here at CSM!
A Little About John
First and foremost, John is a child of The Most High God. He is a loving husband to Ann Sardin, his beautiful wife of almost 39 years, and a proud father of four children, including one from Nigeria, and five grandchildren. John enjoys family gatherings, cooking on his offset smoker, gardening, and fishing. But above all, he finds great fulfillment in being of service wherever he’s needed.
How John Came to Faith
At the age of 13, John accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior during Revival Week at Christian Light Missionary Baptist Church in Anguilla, MS. His faith journey has been a source of strength and guidance throughout his life.

John is a devoted member of Rebirth Christian Fellowship in Birmingham, AL, where he continues to grow and serve in his community.
Before CSM
Having retired from the regular workforce, John is now dedicating his time and energy to pursuing God’s call in his life.
Why CSM?
When approached by Tracy Hipps and offered the position of Community Garden Coordinator, John knew it was a divine calling. For years, he had been praying for an opportunity to start community gardens in places where people could benefit, and this role aligns perfectly with his passion and vision for service.
A Scripture That Inspires Him
Matthew 6:33 has always been John’s go-to scripture: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
We are excited for John to join the team and look forward to the amazing work he will do to bring hope and nourishment to our community through the power of gardening!
We are excited to welcome Kelvin Lockett to the CSM team as our new Community Development Coordinator!
A Little About Kelvin
Kelvin is passionate about serving both his church and community. He’s been blessed with a wonderful wife, Felicia, and is the proud father of two daughters, Keioka and Kanisha, as well as three grandsons: Mason, Malakhi, and Baby Myles. His heart for service has led him to this incredible opportunity to live out his purpose and serve others through CSM.
How Kelvin Came to Faith
Kelvin gave his life to Christ at the age of 14 through salvation and baptism. However, his true transformation began in 2007 when he began living according to the Word of God. This shift brought clarity and a deeper relationship with Christ that continues to strengthen him today.

Kelvin is an active member of Love Fellowship Christian Center in Adamsville, AL, where he continues to grow in faith and service.
Before CSM
Before joining our team, Kelvin spent 27 years working in Information Technology with firms such as Wachovia Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, and the Housing Authority of the Birmingham District.
Why CSM?
Kelvin felt God calling him to a position that would allow him to serve His Kingdom with purpose and passion. As Community Development Coordinator, Kelvin will work to bridge the gap between our communities, churches, and nonprofits, bringing clarity and unity to all of our service partners.
