When Hurricane Helene struck, we became the City of Birmingham’s central hub for disaster relief, a role we were prepared for but never imagined would require the depth of community support we received. While we anticipated collecting material donations, the financial generosity we were blessed with was beyond anything we expected.

Over the next weeks and months, we witnessed God open doors that we never could have dreamed of. One of the church groups we regularly host during the summer was located in an area deeply affected by the hurricane in Tennessee. As a result, we began supporting their local church and connecting with other church-centered efforts in the region.

Through these partnerships, we learned of a new opportunity for our regular Construction SWATT team: to go on a mission trip to rebuild homes. As of February 2025, we have completed our second trip, where we rebuilt several homes over two weeks. And we’re not stopping there—we’ve got more work planned for the future!

This ongoing work is essential for the already disadvantaged communities we are serving. But it’s not just about physical restoration; it’s about spiritual renewal. As we work to rebuild homes, we’ve been able to share the Gospel, hand out Bibles, and connect local pastors with homeowners. Our mission is to help these families build their homes not only on solid foundations of brick and wood but on the Firm Foundation of Jesus Christ, encouraging them to make Him their Lord.

We ask you to join us in praying for the salvation of these homeowners and for the continued impact of this work. If you’re interested in joining us on a future trip or would like more information on how you can get involved, please reach out—we’d love to have you as part of this transformative journey.

Thank you for your continued support, prayers, and partnership!
